I was looking through some old photos, searching for exactly something like this - me, little, with some kind of car. But what I found simply blew my mind.
This is me and my brother, around Christmas, 1982. I’m the round one one the right, and this photo was taken in our home, Budapest, Hungary, so we are behind the iron curtain. The police cruiser my brother sports is a DDR-produced Wartburg, which is certainly something, that should have been available for Hungarian parents to spoil their kids with.
But.... how on Earth did I end up with a DeTomaso Mangusta???

That's pretty wild. I didn't even know they made models of those back then.

But where is that Mangusta?

destroyed, most likely pretty soon after this pic was done. Not much survives the first 5-6 years of a boy (I see it on my kids too), we only start to go easier on our toys later.

That’s a far more interesting Christmas than my Christmas of ‘82. All I got was fluid, fluid everywhere. And an umbilical cord.

That’s too bad as it looks pretty awesome. Was it cable controlled? This one is for sale in eBay for $150.

Even the Iron Curtain couldn’t contain the awesomeness of the Mangusta.
